Digital sovereignty is widely discussed but achieving real independence requires concrete action. In this keynote, Frank Karlitschek addresses common myths around moving away from Big Tech ecosystems and adopting open source alternatives. He outlines practical steps organisations can take to strengthen sovereignty without compromising security or operational continuity. Drawing on real-world public sector implementations across Europe, the talk highlights what has already been achieved and what others can learn from these examples.
