European businesses and governments literally run on the servers and software provided by US technology companies. That dependence can be weaponised into submission. Bruno Giussani has worked across the Atlantic for three decades. In conversation with the SCSD’s Nick Mayencourt, they will decrypt how digital platforms have become the infrastructure of our daily lives, how the alignment of Big Tech with the priorities of the US government is creating an untenable situation for Europe, and what can be done to emancipate ourselves, as much as possible, from this technological subjugation.
