The police perspective of a cyber offence

Cyber security is of vital importance for companies. The good news is that companies can arm themselves against cyber criminals. Those who take a preventive approach to this issue stand a chance against cyber criminals. The Cantonal Police of Bern will present the common methods used by cyber criminals and the corresponding protective measures to small and medium-sized companies, drawing on its experience in investigations. Participants will learn what to do after an attack. National and international cooperation will also be explained.

As an expert in the field of systems engineering, he helped to set up the digital forensics department at the Bern Cantonal Police. In 2010, he took over as deputy head of the computer forensics department with the two areas of cyber and digitalised crime. Since 2023, he has headed the digital crime investigation department and is involved in the national strategy to combat cybercrime and the "Cyber training" working group, among other things. This gave rise to the Network for Digital Investigation Support (NEDIK).
