Today, cyberspace is an integral part of state strategies and is also used to assert geopolitical claims - or to avert them. National cyberspace has therefore long been regarded as a critical infrastructure in its own right, which must be protected against internal and external attempts to influence it and against attacks. Ideally, a suitable holistic security architecture forms the foundation on which digital sovereignty in all its dimensions can be built.
