While a conventional computer works with a binary code - i.e. zeros and ones - quantum computers encode data in qubits. A qubit is a superposition of all the points in between so that it can represent either a zero, a one or a linear combination of the two.

19-years-old Elisa Torres from Chile is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Girls in Quantum, an international initiative that aims to inspire students, especially females from all over the world to enter the field of quantum computing. Elisa Torres was also selected as a finalist for the Global Student Prize 2023 and she is part of the advisory board of the Swiss Cyber Security Days.
