In streaming, in facial recognition on our smartphones or in medicine as a tool for recognising skin diseases: Artificial intelligence (AI) and increasingly complex algorithms are influencing our lives more than ever before. AI applications are diverse and the possibilities are far-reaching, but safety often lags behind. Initiatives such as the AI Safety Prize from Pour Demain show that there is still a lot to do in this area.
