Quantum computers are no longer science fiction, but a real technology of the future. The potential of this technology is enormous; with the help of quantum computers, for example, new breakthroughs could be achieved in the analysis of climatic relationships. However, those voices that see a threat to the security of critical IT areas due to the performance of the technology are also becoming louder and louder.

17-year-old Elisa Torres from Chile is the co-founder and managing director of Girls in Quantum, an international initiative that aims to inspire women and girls from all over the world to enter the field of quantum computing. Elisa Torres was also selected as a finalist for the Global Student Prize 2023.

Principal RSM and Head of Cybersecurity, IBM Research Zurich

Marc Ph. Stoecklin is a Principal Research Scientist and head of the Security Research department at IBM Research in Zurich. He co-leads IBM’s research strategy on quantum-safe cryptography, with a particular focus on cryptographic algorithms, cryptography implementations, and migration plans and tooling. He holds a PhD degree in Computer, Communication, and Information sciences from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.

Damir Bogdan heads the QuantumBasel competence centre for quantum and artificial intelligence. He specialises in digital transformation and leads C-Levels into the new future. He also works at Plug and Play, Silicon Valley's largest innovation platform, and is a board member in the healthcare, high-tech and industrial sectors. He is a Senior Advisor at the IWI of the University of St. Gallen and holds certificates in "Disruptive Strategies" from Harvard and "AI Implications on Business Models" from MIT, among others.
