Shaping Cyber Resilience
Cyber-attacks threaten global stability: In 2022, cybercrime caused far more economic damage than the combination of all global natural disasters during the same year – and this trend is rising sharply.
Digitalisation is turning the world into a global village, extending and multiplying our capabilities enormously. Yet, despite connecting countries, people, and organizations worldwide, the foundation of digitization – cyberspace – is still not adequately secured. This puts at risk national security, the foundations of democracy, and even our own homes. Cyber threats affect every aspect of our lives, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As a result, one of the most pressing and complicated challenges we face today is ensuring our digital security.
The Swiss Cyber Security Days (SCSD) is the Swiss reference platform for showcasing national cybersecurity solutions that are integrated at a global level. 2023 marks its fifth edition and will focus on «Shaping Cyber Resilience». Leading national and international figures from civil society, politics, business, research and administration will use real examples to demonstrate the immense importance of cyber-resilient societies. Framework conditions for digital maturity will be presented along with current paradigms from research and global events.

« Cyberspace makes existing threats even more challenging. Modern security policy includes the virtual space: it looks ahead and thinks ahead. Within the framework of the Swiss National strategy for the protection of Switzerland against cyber risks, the DDPS is responsible for the nation’s cyber defence, every day, as well as in crises or conflicts. The DDPS can only fulfill this mission in close cooperation with its partners on the level of the Cantons, and of the Swiss Government. Cyber Security is a joint mission – and a security policy priority. »
Federal Councillor Viola Amherd
Head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport DDPS
